Baylenisms #2, 3, 4

Mister Mister is full of funny comments lately so I better start writing them down.

#2

Preface: Baylen is really into the CARS characters and he owns quite a few of the Hot Wheels size cars and knows all of their names. Anyway, two of them, Leak Less and Mr. the King were missing. Dj and I were looking for them every day trying to figure out what happened to them.

One night before bed about 3 days ago:

DJ: Baylen, what happened to those two cars?

Baylen: I don't know, daddy.

Dj: We need to find them.

Baylen: Ok, I keep an eye out for them. ;)

#3

The other night before bed, I was telling Baylen to lay down and go to sleep b/c he was wasting time. I was getting frustrated with him screwing around so I told him, "Lay down and put your hand in your pants and go to sleep!" (He always puts his hand in his pants to settle down and go to sleep...gross, but we can't break the habit so we stopped trying.)

Anyway, this happened 2 nights later:

ME: Good night, Baylen. I love you. Have a good sleep.

Baylen: Okay mommy. I tired. My hand is in my pants. And he GRINS this huge grin. LOL little stinker!

I just laughed and laughed.

#4
Last night we were out eating dinner and Baylen stood up and turned around to see who was sitting behind him. In a booth a little further away, he sees a guy with a long, dark, pointed beard...

Baylen (pointing at the guy): LOOK! LOok at that guy over there!! He is Santa Claus! (Grins and laughs)

hhhaaaa

Me: Baylen, turn around and please stop pointing.

Singing Eminem

Yeah, we expose our kids to lots of music. That's just us. Brynn loves Rihanna's part of this song and when she hears it on the radio, she always sings along w/ the chorus.

Bday pics are UP

Check my Mobile Me Gallery to see pics from Brynn's 4th Birthday Partayyy. It should be teh first album listed in my gallery. Lots of pics to look through. Dj took lots of great ones and I snapped a few later on in the evening that turned out cute too. I wish I would have taken a pic of her plates, balloons, etc. b/c they were cute--little Hula Girl themed paper products. I posted a pic of what they looked like below:

First Day of Pre-School

Today was Brynn's first day of pre-school. She had an opinion about what outfit she wore and which jewelry she added. Bee also told me this a.m. she wanted her hair in twisties. If you look closely, you can see her "Silly Bands" on her wrist--she had to wear ALL of her Princess wrist bracelets and there were so many of them that they went half way up her arm. Bee had a great day and said it was SO much fun. She was really excited to talk about it when I picked her up today. I also noticed on her sheet that she didn't take a nap today, probably b/c of all of the festivities.

Brynn and her teacher, Ms. Kim

P.S. See, mom and dad (papa, gramma: the outfit FITS! she was really excited that she was able to wear it today, along with all of her silly bands)

Baylenism #1

This was SOOO Funny...

All of a sudden, the room smelled of nasty poop smell.

DJ: Baylen, do you have poop?

Baylen: NO!

Me: Baylen, do you have poop? It stinks!

Baylen: pretends he doesn't hear me.

Dj: Baylen, eww, do you have poop?

Baylen: I not telling you guys!

WE LAUGHHHHHHHHH

ME: Baylen, you have poop, don't you?!

Baylen: GRINS Yeah!

New Pictures

We took the kids in to get some new pictures taken at the mall b/c they were having a special on color enhancements and even though I know how to do it on PhotoShop, it takes a lot of time and they seem to be able to do it a lot faster. I think they turned out pretty darn cute.

I didn't put all of them up here but will post a few more throughout the next couple of weeks.

Baylen had a really hard time sitting/posing for more than 2 seconds. He was all over the place and Mr. Crazy Man. It was really hard to get him to sit/stand/look at the camera. He was really wound up too, and I thought he was going to knock down the white pull-down backdrop. LOL

In the last picture, Brynn is wearing a hat my mom made for her at my request. It is perfect. :)

Presents

Ahh the joys of being little and the excitement of opening presents. This little girl has been begging me all week to open all of her presents and I kept telling her shd had to wait. Poor thing. She was pretty patient though. She tried bargaining for Sunday and Monday night openings, but we wouldn't budge. :)

I didn't take very many pictures of her opening her presents but here is one of B. opening her Bitty Baby Kitchen for her Bitty Twin. She has been asking for this thing since she saw it in a magazine over two months ago and was pretty excited about it.

Birthday Dinner

Brynn requested that we go to Azteca for her birthday dinner. Usually, she picks Olive Garden, so this was a bit of a surprise, but it was her choice and we all like it, so it was totally fine. We asked if the waiters could sing "HB" and get a pic in the giant sombrero. She was all about it when we talked about it, but when they came over with a hat the size of her, I think she was a little overwhelmed. She did pretty well and hung in there.

Brynn pretending to be Spider Girl and showing her spider web fingers...

Video Chat works too

My parents were able to see Brynn open her bday gifts from them via video iChat. They also were able to sing her "Happy Birthday." Thank you, technology. :) And thank you, papa and g'ma for all of the cool presents!

Happy Birthday, Brynn!

Happy 4th Birthday to my sweet little girl!

Four years old...I feel like you were just a baby and other times it seems like it was so long ago. How did I get lost in time?

You are so full of knowledge, interested and intuitive. "Tell me a story, momma!" is something you often request while lying in bed trying to waste time so you don't have to try and fall asleep. You are my little night owl and could stay awake until 10 if we allowed it.

A true Teacher's Pet you are indeed. You love pleasing your teachers and every teacher wants to keep you in her class even when they know you can be sneaky and sometimes ornery. A girl after my own heart, for sure.

Your little cackle makes me smile. Your kindness melts me, especially when you exhibit it towards your brother. In public.

Do you know how smart you are, little one? Sometimes you do. :) One of your favorite lines is, "But mommy....______."

Bargaining is a strategy you have grown to utilize often. 3 more minutes...no FIVE more minutes...no TEN more minutes. :)

You love shopping and have strong opinions about what is purchased. "Oh mom, look at that shirt, it's SO cute!" Again, a girl after my own heart.

A bad habit you've picked up recently includes chewing your nails. We have tried to use the bad tasting meds but they aren't working.

You speak in Spanish, especially when naming colors and saying numbers quite often. It's even more cute when you review them with your brother.

You love to wrestle and mess around with Baylen. I often have to ask you to stop wrestling around, esp. before bed when you two seem to be the most wound up.

You can become addicted to TV very quickly so we have to limit it for you. You love to watch Dora, Mother Goose, Little Einsteins, FiFi, and Handy Manny. You also enjoy watching parts of movies, such as anything Disney Princess.

You LOVE music. Lots of your favorite songs you hear on the radio and it's crazy how quickly you can pick up lyrics to a song. I love how I will hear you randomly singing parts of tunes while you're in the bathroom, getting dressed, or playing around. "Baby I like it! Don't stop baby, Don't stop baby!" I hear that one sung often. And it makes me smile.

You love to read and have been working really hard to read our little site word books. You want to know what they say. You can recognize word sounds and can sound out some spellings of words like mom, dad, pat, and a few others. You are still a fan of so many of the books you have been loving for some time now: Pinkalicious. Purplelicious, The Kissing Hand, Puff the Magic Dragon, etc.

You can recognize all sorts of numbers (up to 40 and sometimes 50) and point them out whenever you see one.

Still afraid of anything in costume, you take off full speed for safety the minute it's spotted. Last weekend when we went to Chuck E Cheese's, you saw Chuckie and your face went white. You ran full speed back to our booth and started breathing heavily and tearing up. YOu buried your face in my shoulder and asked if we could go home. After scanning the crowd for 10 minutes, you decided it was safe to go back to riding and playing games until you saw him again and this time, it was all over.

Emotional Roller Coaster is something you have been riding for some time now. When you have a tough day at school, you come home cranky or super upset and cry and cry. It breaks my heart. Your heart is easily broken and you tend to fight back (even though you forget about that part).

You are still a little tiny love. Tiny for Life is what I often say to you. You are inching your way into some 4T clothing but still fit into quite a few 3T items. You love wearing dresses, costumes, jewelry, and hair accessories, of course. Your brother is now taller than you but you don't seem to notice. You're still a sweet little 29 pounds with loads of attitude and personality. Your hair is really long (past the middle of your back) and you've agreed to let us grow out your bangs.

You LOVe coming to my school to hang out. Whether it's drawing, cutting, watching me hang up posters, etc. Whatever it is, you just like being there.

Miss Conversationalist: You say the cutest things and are so sincere. "That was the best Hawaiian party EVER, mommy!" "It's an awesome, sunny day out!" Many nights at dinner, we can't get a word in edgewise because you are talking non-stop. Hopefully this doesn't get you into trouble once you go to school. haha

You LOVE dance and practice often at home. It's fun to see you dress up in your different costumes just because you want to. I'll never forget the day you walked downstairs one Saturday morning a few weeks ago with your pink dance recital tutu on and said, "I'm wearing this to Costco today, mom!" We had some stares at our second stop (grocery store) and a lot of smirks but you loved being YOU.

Happy Happy Happy Happy Birthday, little Brynnie! We love you so much and have loved watching you grow up even if it's been way too fast. You bring so much joy to our lives and we are so blessed.

I think we have an idea...

Well, I think we have an idea for Halloween for the kiddos and their "famous duo". Let's just say a hint is in this picture and one of the costumes could be a repeat of me at age 4. :) Luckily, one of them won't have to freeze in Underoos like I did back in the day. :)

We teetered between this idea above and Alice & the Rabbit or Mad Hatter...both ideas are cute, but Baylen is really interested in the comic book guys this year, so we are going to let him dress in fake muscles and a cape. LOL

Next year, I wouldn't be surprised if their duo connects to Star Wars when Baylen is finally big enough to fit in the costume we've been waiting to get for him. :)

I know it's early but, what are your kids going to be for Halloween?

Princess and the Frog

I tried to convince Baylen that this would be a good duo for them to dress up as for Halloween but Bay said no to the frog. Luckily, Bee has a frog to coincide w/ her Frog Princess dress. She keeps asking me when she can get the Tiana crown. I told her to ask Santa.

Luau was a success!

Brynn's Luau was a success! Hopefully, I'll have more pictures to come soon (they are all on Dj's camera) but here is one of the party crew (minus Tyler and Elsa). Brynn loved every minute of her party.
Check my craft blog (craftinforfun.blogspot.com) (you should be able to click on the word blog and it will take you right there OR see my link on the side, "SO Not Martha" to see some pics of some of the party favors. I have an almost 4-year-old in my house...holy cats!

More to come soon.

First day of School x2

This is my 10th year of teaching...but my second first year of teaching. A new place, new people, new students, a new title, new responsibilities, and new curriculum. I hope I can survive. Here's to a good year. :) if i don't post much the rest of the week, it's because I am just really really really busy.

Body Art...

I've been totally thinking about tattoos lately. I know it's because I was able to hang out with one of my good friends, Krissy, who recently bought herself a very COOL foot tattoo. I just love it. I have lots of ideas of things I want. I love my sister's tat on the inside of her wrist, and am thinking of getting this Celtic sign which means mother on the inside of my left wrist...

Then again, I also like these three:

Although I'm not really into butterflies, there are a couple here that are pretty cool. I really want to figure out a cool one that represents my children..something super artsy that involves a B. I really like the B 2 (squared) idea but what if we have another baby someday and we choose a B name? Hmmm...gotta keep thinking about that one.

I guess I'm not in a hurry but I am keeping my eye out for cool ones...foot or wrist...one will come sooner than later, I think. :) Who wants to go w/ me and hear me scream like a 'lil girl?! :)

Still teething

This guy is still teething...at 2 1/2 he is working on getting his 2-year molars. I think they have been causing him some pain b/c he's been irritable, had a runny nose, and slobbering a ton. Poor kid. He's doing pretty well, despite the fact his gums are pretty swollen back there. Looking at this pic, his cheeks do look a little more swollen than usual.
