Yeah, I'm not a big fan either. He definitely needs to be shown the door. Dreads make my skin crawl. So very dirty! Ewww!
I don't watch the show much but I hear about it because David Cook is from here. He apparently is singing at the Royals game next Friday when he's in town taping his hometown segment. Score. We are going to that game. I do like his voice.
Our newspaper has an alt. paper called Ink and one of the writers confessed her love for him in it. She went to HS with him and was hocking his CD from HS. Here's the link, not sure if the story is still up

BTW, my brother used to have dreads. It's for lazy people who don't want to wash their hair. It stinks and is major gross and the only way they can fix it is to completely chop off all of their hair because it's destroyed
He looks like a girl (in the face anyway). I don't watch... reality TV sucks me in so I avoid it like a crack addict avoids the rock. I agree, the dreads probably stink.
So it isn't me, I don't vote!
I seem to watch American Idol every other year... and this is apparently the OTHER year. Anyway, I'm not a big fan of dread locks either... but for all I know this guy could be Rastafarian and it is part of his religous beliefs against cutting one's hair.
If the guy sucks as a singer then he should go... but to say he's lazy or lacks personal hygiene (have you personally smelled him?) is going a bit far in my opinion. Accept him for who he is and let him look however he feels comfortable.
