Happy 4th of July

We spent most of the day running a couple of errands, relaxing and enjoying the hot weather. Brynn convinced her dad to get the little pool out and fill it up with water, since it was in the upwards of 90 degrees. We filled it with hose water and then added a little bit of hot water to it so the kids could have some swim time before we went over to a fireworks party. Baylen did not like getting in, but would stand on the edges and play in the water and splash around. We didn't force him again to try and get in. Brynn sat in the pool and splashed around for quite awhile. Both of the kids are really getting a lot of sun and are pretty tan for Seattle babies. LOL Luckily, it appears that both of them are going to have Dj's "once in the sun I'm tan skin." Must be nice. :)

Later, we headed over to a friend's house for a fireworks display out in the front of their cul de sac. He had a TON of fireworks. I mean, more than I have EVER seen. Dj and I took turns coming outside to watch the show and then back in the house to watch the kids. Dj enjoyed lighting off several throughout the night. It was almost like all the guys were reliving their teenage years again. Brynn was not a fan of the loud noises, but would watch some from the window at times. As I heard a couple of times last night: Why is it that on the 4th of July, instead of celebrating our independence, we blow shit up?! Well, I guess it all kinda makes sense in a way. The Founding Fathers had to blow a lot of sh** up to gain their independence, so maybe that's the connection? :) Regardless, there were more BIG fireworks on the cul de sac last night than I have EVER seen shot off in Churdan! (HAHAHAHA it's true though!)
